On January 17, five Sport Management students – Dawid Czerniawski, Michael Johnston, Danielle Ordway, Blake Scehlhaas, and Austin Schepler – were chosen to attend an exclusive special event – The Van Andel Arena 20th Anniversary Celebration. The event was focused on sports management majors from Cornerstone, Aquinas, Hope, Calvin and Davenport. Special guest speakers included General Managers Al Aliva/ Detroit Tigers, Ken Holland/Detroit Red Wings and Jeff Bower/Detroit Piston (pictured below) with MC Jack Doles/WOOD TV 8. They discussed the importance of Grand Rapids as their host city to their top minor league affiliates, The Whitecaps, Griffins and the GR Drive.
The Davenport participation was hosted by Davenport professors Bob Clarkson, Don Luy, and Steve Prawdzik.
