Davenport University’s campuses across the state host camps for junior and high school students throughout the summer. Check out the camps at the campuses in Grand Rapids, Midland, Warren and Holland below:

W.A. Lettinga Campus in Grand Rapids, Michigan

CSI: Davenport — Forensics Science Summer Camp
July 30 – Aug. 3 | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost: Free
A camp for high school students entering grades 9 to 12. Students will explore laboratory techniques that police and forensic scientists use to catch criminals, learn about DNA analysis and conduct real-life CSI work by investigating a staged crime scene. Funded by the M. E. Davenport Legacy Endowment Fund.

Bytes Computer Summer Camp
Aug. 14-16 | Noon to 4 p.m.
Cost: Free
This camp, free for high school students entering grades 9 to 12, teaches the basics about programming, 3-D printing, cyber security, game design and development, robotics and more.

Sports Camps
Cost: Varies
DU Athletics hosts football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball and softball camps. These camps are for students entering grades 9 to 12.

Math Camp

July 16-19 | 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Cost: Free
A camp for middle and high school students entering grades 6 to 12. Students will develop their mathematical skills and interest so they have the confidence and ability to succeed in their upcoming high school and college mathematics courses. Specifically, students will learn about Group Theory and work to discover patters. They will be motivated with challenging games, puzzles, competition, and hands-on activities. Lunch is included.

Great Lakes Bay Campus in Midland, Michigan

H2Outdoors Environmental Science Camp
June 25-26 | 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Cost: $135 (includes camp materials, shirt and lunches)
A camp for high school students. They will act as both field scientists and laboratory scientists while exploring water and soil. The camp includes trips to the Midland Water Treatment Plant, Chippewa Nature Center wetlands, and river and forest areas near campus. Applications due by May 26.

Scrub Life Healthcare Summer Camp
Cost: $135 (includes camp materials, shirt and lunches)
July 19-20 | 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
A camp for high school students interested in health-related careers. It includes CPR and First Aid certification, as well as experiences in the simulation lab and learning of basic health assessments.

Bytes Computer Summer Camp

June 25-26 | 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Cost: $135 (includes camp materials, shirt and lunches)
A camp for high school students aged 14 to 18.  Students will learn about programming, networking, cyber security and digital forensics. Each camper will go home with their own Raspberry Pi microcomputer. Applications due by May 26.

Warren Campus

DU Camp RN
July 16-19 | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost: $100
High school juniors and seniors will gain hands-on experience in DU’s simulation lab, earn certification in Mental Health First Aid and hear from health care guest speakers. They also will learn how to perform First Aid and physical assessments, as well as obtain and interpret vital signs. Lunch and giveaways are included. Applications due by June 1.

Holland Campus

Camp Infinity
July 16-19
Cost: $75
A weeklong technology camp for girls entering grades 5 through 8 to introduces them to computer and internet technologies through hands-on activities. Campers in grades 5 and 6 will study video game design concepts and robotics. Campers in grades 7 and 8 will study robotics and mobile app design concepts.
