DU’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council named to Top 10 for ERG & Council Honors Award

Davenport University’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council was named 10th in the Nation’s Top 25 Employee Resource Groups at the annual ERG & Council Conference.

“Having made it to the Top 10 for two consecutive years is very exciting,” said Rhae-Ann Booker,  Executive Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

The ERG & Council Honors Award is the only annual national award that recognizes, honors and celebrates the contributions and achievements of Employee Resource Groups and Diversity Councils that lead the diversity and inclusion process in their organizations and demonstrate results in their workforce, workplace and marketplace.

“At DU, we are committed to understanding the impact of our DEI efforts and this awards process gives us an opportunity to benchmark our work with numerous other organizations across different industries,” Booker said. “It is good for higher education institutions — those of us who are shaping the minds and hearts of students — to be leading examples of how to advance diversity, equity and inclusion.”

DU was the only university in the Top 25 and was ranked above top organizations such as AT&T, Bank of America, Ricoh USA, and The Kellogg Company.

“This year’s applications represented 1,330 ERGs, BRGs, Diversity Councils and their chapters,” said Fernando Serpa, the Executive Director of the Association of ERGs & Councils. “This is by far the most competitive and exciting field to date.”

Last year, Davenport’s DEI Council was ranked second in the nation.
