Bill Gagliardi, the director of the Great Lakes Bay Campus in Midland, was awarded the J. Kermit Campbell Partnership for Education Award from the Midland Area Chamber of Commerce in early February.
The J. Kermit Campbell Award is named in honor of an individual who believed that a cooperative relationship between business and education was essential for a community’s growth.
“I worked with Kerm Campbell when both of us were at Dow Corning,” Gagliardi said. “This award signifies his commitment to education and I believe it is very appropriate recognition of the Great Lakes Bay Campus and Davenport University’s commitment to furthering education with business. I was very honored to be recognized and very proud to represent Davenport University.”
Gagliardi provides leadership to the campus faculty and staff, develops and implements the campus strategic plan in support of DU’s vision, and builds positive relations with students, the community and strategic partners, including community colleges and businesses. Most recently, Gagliardi served as associate vice president of marketing, communications and public relations for Midland-based Northwood University. Previous roles have included director of branding and public affairs for XALT Energy; principal of IMPACC, LLC; president of The Green Panel, LLC; and various communications, public affairs and marketing management roles at Dow Corning in Midland and Borden, Inc. in Columbus, Ohio.
