Davenport University has been recognized as having the #1 online medical billing coding program in the nation by BestColleges.com. Known as Health Information Technology (HIT), Davenport’s associate degree program is one of the leading programs in the United States, having graduated the fourth most students (86 graduates) out of 262 accredited HIT programs in the U.S. In addition, Davenport’s Health Information Management (HIM) bachelor program graduated the fifth most students (40 graduates) out of 62 HIM programs in the nation.
Students enrolled in Davenport’s HIT and HIM programs – accredited through the Commission Accreditation of Health Informatics and Information Management (CAHIIM) – are partnered with healthcare industry experts in work settings to allow them to fully prepare and demonstrate their abilities in health information before graduation. Graduates of the programs can get roles in medical coding, data analysis, insurance reimbursement, quality improvement, information privacy and security, and electronic medical records management.
“We are thrilled about the growing recognition for Davenport’s high-quality health professions programs,” said Dr. Karen Daley, Dean for Davenport’s College of Health Professions. “Health information is a fast-growing field and the jobs graduates can get are crucial to the industry and in supporting health care providers. Additionally, the HIT degree articulates seamlessly into a Bachelor’s degree in HIM, allowing students to gain more knowledge to progress in their careers.”
