Tina Marie Pollard has lived many lives and touched many people. She’s a military veteran, an entrepreneur, a philanthropist, a flight attendant, a motivational speaker, and a writer.

Focusing on her life’s mission, Pollard says, “I want to touch a broken life, change a state of mind, and bring a glimpse of hope.” Those three things are what drives Pollard in her work. She’s written a book entitled Confessions of a Housewife: Secrets She Could No Longer Keep (Tales by Tina Marie Book 1) where she brings hope to women and young girls by writing about living in the projects, struggling with self-confidence, finding your voice, and even speaking out against sexual abuse.

“I am passionate about helping others believe in themselves. I know if I overcame the obstacles I faced in my life then I can help others overcome theirs.”

Pollard credits her mentors who worked in the Grand Rapids School system and gave her one of her first professional jobs as inspiring and shaping her into the person she is today.

“They pushed me past my potential, polished me, and showed me the value of a degree. They told me my education is the one thing no one can take away from me.”

And so an education from Davenport is what Pollard achieved. She graduated in 2005 with a BBA in Marketing. The education she received, along with her desire to run her own business, inspired Pollard to start multiple companies. She’s organized fundraising events for churches, started a third party in-home care company, a seasonal tax preparation company, and her latest endeavor as a motivational speaker, writer, and publisher of the first in her trilogy of books.

“It’s my belief that the heart doesn’t lie, and if you live by a heart filled with love, you will always be true to who you are, and you will without hesitation become a life toucher. I have lived more than one life and have more than one story.”
