
Nearly 150 thought leaders in health care, higher education and talent development held an all-day summit to strengthen the talent pipeline for our future healthcare workers. Davenport University Dean of the College of Health Professions Amy Stahley was a panelist during the Michigan Health and Hospital Association event held Sept. 11 in Lansing. Stahley said bringing together professionals to have discussions that inform as well as point out challenges are critical to keeping the talent pipeline in the health professions strong.
“What I thought was extremely beneficial was the unifying voice of academics telling the agencies about the need for immersive in-person clinicals,” Stahley said. “I was able to address the need to look toward longitudinal clinicals and to encourage cooperation and flexibility with employees’ schedules to allow them to teach within our institutions.”
