Effective immediately, Davenport University has appointed two new members to its Board of Trustees, the university’s governing body.
Mark Stiers, President and Chief Operating Officer DTE Vantage and Energy Trading business units, and Keith A. Klingenberg, a Licensed Resident Insurance Producer, Certified Insurance Counselor, Transportation Risk Specialist, CEO and Founder of Presidio Insurance Solutions, have joined Davenport’s leadership team.
“This is a pivotal time for Davenport University,” said Dr. Richard J. Pappas, president. “We are laser-focused on meeting the talent needs our economy faces. The addition of these two highly skilled individuals to our Board of Trustees will bring both expertise and diversity of thought to our university.”
As president and COO of DTE Energy’s Vantage business unit, Stiers directs the company’s operations across 74 U.S sites. He also leads strategic planning and business development as the company expands its innovative and energy efficient products and services. He also holds the position of president of DTE Energy Trading, where he is responsible for overseeing the growth of the non-regulated subsidiary of DTE which markets and trades electricity, natural gas and environmental products.
He joined DTE Energy in 2006, and most recently served as president and chief operating officer of DTE Gas. He earned a Master of Business Administration and an Honors Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Windsor.
Klingenberg has extensive management skills stemming from more than 30 years of experience within the Logistics sector. In addition to his current roles as a Licensed Resident Insurance Producer, Certified Insurance Counselor, Transportation Risk Specialist, CEO and Founder of Presidio Insurance Solutions, he has served as Principal and President of TrueNorth Insurance of Michigan. He also served as co-founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Total Logistics Control Group, Inc., a nationally recognized, dry and temperature controlled contract logistic services provider.
Klingenberg is a graduate of Davenport University and the Michigan Military Academy. In 1992, Davenport honored Klingenberg with a Distinguished Alumni Award. He has also served 18 years on the Davenport University Foundation Board and as chair and president of the Davenport Alumni Board for the past 12 years. He holds degrees in Industrial Traffic Management and Sales & Marketing. He is an inactive U.S. Army Officer and recipient of the American Spirit of Honor Medal.
