The Davenport University men’s golf team put together an impressive showing at the UIndy Invitational at Broadmoor, finishing second in the 17-team field while placing three Panthers inside the top 10 individually. The Panthers were able to set the school record for a 54-hole team score (839), which was 10 strokes better than the previous record at the 2024 NCAA regional.

Davenport carded rounds of 274, 287 and 278 to finish with a three-round total of 839, just two strokes behind tournament champion McKendree (837). The Panthers’ opening-round 274 was the lowest team round of the tournament.

Leading the way was Cayden Kwan, who captured the individual championship with a 13-under-par 203. He broke the 54-hole individual school record of 211 set by three different golfers. Kwan opened the tournament with an eight-under 64 to break the school record of 66 shared by three different Panthers before following with an even-par 72 in round two. He closed the event in strong fashion, firing a five-under 67 to secure the top spot on the individual leaderboard.

Hudson Turcotte also delivered a standout performance, tying for fifth at nine-under 207. Turcotte shattered his previous 54-hole best of 226 and was his first top-5 performance. Turcotte was under par in all three rounds, posting scores of 67, 70 and 70. Chen-Shiuan (Louis) Wu gave Davenport its third top-10 finisher, tying for ninth at six-under 210 following rounds of 71, 71 and 68.

Rounding out the Panthers’ lineup were Ashton Rinaldi and Justin Grimard. Rinaldi tied for 59th at seven-over 223 with rounds of 72, 78 and 73, while Grimard tied for 65th at eight-over 224 after shooting 76, 74 and 74.

The tournament was played at Broadmoor Country Club, a par-72 layout measuring 6,904 yards.
