Davenport University Athletics continues to strengthen its reputation as one of the Midwest’s premier athletic programs. The program supports more than 1,000 student-athletes across 40+ athletic programs. As a member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), the Panthers are committed to excellence in competition, academics and student-athlete development, while fostering strong connections with the campus and local community.

The 2025-26 academic year featured several standout accomplishments. The men’s volleyball team captured the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation Division II National Championship in Kansas City, Missouri, finishing the tournament with a perfect 9-0 record to earn the program’s first national title. Baseball advanced to the GLIAC Tournament finals and secured another berth in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Midwest Regional at Grand Valley State. Both the men’s and women’s golf teams qualified once again for NCAA regional competition, continuing their consistent postseason success. The STUNT team claimed both the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) regular season and tournament championships before earning three victories at the College STUNT Division II National Championships. Individually, Abby Rossow was named conference Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.

Success at Davenport extends well beyond athletic competition. Student-athletes continued to excel academically, with a large majority earning GPAs above 3.0 and many receiving GLIAC Academic Excellence honors. Programs emphasize leadership, personal growth and community engagement, preparing Panthers for success both during and after their collegiate careers.

The department also continues to expand opportunities for student-athletes. Beginning in 2026-27, Davenport will add women’s flag football, reflecting the sport’s rapid national growth and the university’s commitment to increasing opportunities for female athletes. At the same time, coaching transitions in several programs have introduced new leadership while maintaining the department’s competitive vision.

With sustained success across multiple sports, a strong commitment to academics and continued investment in its programs, Davenport Athletics remains well positioned for the future. By developing champions in competition, the classroom and the community, the Panthers continue to establish themselves as one of the most well-rounded and successful athletic departments.
