This year’s championship will feature 16 regional tournaments, with eight sites hosting three teams and the other eight hosting four. Each regional will follow a double-elimination format and take place from May 15–17. The winners will move on to the super regionals, held May 22–24, which will be played in a best-of-three format. Victors from the super regionals will advance to the championship finals, a double-elimination tournament scheduled for May 30–June 7 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. The finals will be co-hosted by the University of Mount Olive and the Town of Cary.
Davenport University will be hosting the Midwest Regional #1 at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex in Caledonia, Michigan. This will be the second time that DU will be hosting this round with the last coming in 2022. The Panthers will be hosting a three-team regional as they welcome #4-seed the University of Indianapolis and the #5-seed Ashland University. Davenport has played both teams already this season as they defeated the Greyhounds three of four games in Indianapolis March 7-9. They also beat the Eagles on a neutral field in Tampa, Florida by a score of 4-0 on March 2. The Panthers captured the GLIAC regular season and tournament titles this season. They went 4-0 in the GLIAC Tournament and won the last three games in walk-off fashion. They enter the regional with an overall record of 41-13 and are 13-3 at home this season.
Indianapolis received an at-large bid and are currently 30-22 overall. They went 20-11 in the GLVC regular season and finished fifth in the conference standings. UIndy won their opening game in the GLVC Tournament against Drury (9-8 in 11 innings), but then dropped their next two against Missouri-St. Louis (10-7) and Drury (10-8). Ashland has a record of 37-17 overall and went 24-8 in the G-MAC standings, which was good for second place in the North Division. The Eagles went 2-2 in the G-MAC Tournament with an opening round loss against Ohio Dominican (9-8). They responded with back-to-back wins against Walsh (5-4) and Kentucky Wesleyan (10-2), before being eliminated by Ohio Dominican (10-5).
