February is American Heart Month, a time to call attention to the fact that cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of women.
Davenport University’s Jayla Walker was living with heart disease and didn’t even know it until she was diagnosed on her 26th birthday. She almost lost her life to heart disease, but now, one year later, she is sharing her remarkable story to raise awareness of the silent killer.
Walker recently spoke at an American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women luncheon in Grand Rapids and was also featured on WOOD TV’s eight West.
