On Tuesday, February 23, 2021, beloved former Davenport employee Tom Brown passed away. Tom played many pivotal roles at Davenport University. Tom started as the VP of academic affairs, to the Dean/VP of the Margaret D. and Robert W. Sneden Graduate School and retired as the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academics.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place in the forthcoming summer months. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Thomas H. Brown, PhD. Endowed Scholarship at Davenport University: Davenport University, Office of Advancement.

Everyone at Davenport extends their deepest condolences to Tom’s family. He played an important role in our rich academic history.

  1. Tom was a good man. And he was the epitome of the quintessential College Dean. He was thoughtful and big picture focused. He had a sense of humor that was at once disarming and just plain funny.

    His service to Davenport University was remarkable and had a huge positive impact that I think most people fail to understand. Tom did not look for attention or credit for what he accomplished; he just went about his business.
