Davenport University appoints new vice president of information technology and CIO

Davenport University has appointed Ben Williams as its new Vice President of Information Technology & Chief Information Officer. Williams has been with Davenport for 13 years, serving in a variety of Information Technology roles.  For the past year, Williams has co-led the IT division on an interim basis.

“Ben demonstrated strong leadership over the past year and we are confident he will continue our tradition of excellence in information technology,” stated Mike Volk, Executive Vice President for Finance and CFO. “We are happy to fill this important role with a leader who has already demonstrated his tremendous value to Davenport.”

Williams earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Central Michigan University where he began his IT career before joining Davenport. He has since risen up through the IT division, serving as a Novell Network Engineer and Director of Information Security before assuming the interim co-CIO role last year. Ben earned his Master of Science in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from Davenport in 2013.
